Soon, it’ll be easier than ever to travel the Sunshine State, as the Brightline high-speed rail expansion has reached the halfway mark between Miami and Orlando.

Fox 35’s Matt Trezza reported on the big occasion, which marks a significant development in the expansion.

The line will lead to Orlando International Airport, which will serve as the acting terminus until a planned extension stopping at Disney Springs and leading to Tampa is constructed. This section isn’t expected to be complete until 2026 at the earliest. The project hasn’t been without its detractors, though. Recently, three groups from the community of Hunter’s Creek voiced their disapproval of the route of the line that would go through their neighborhood, and have expressed hopes that Brightline will consider an alternate route near Taft/Vineland Road.

The West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport expansion is expected to open in 2023.

  1. I am glad that we are getting a high speed rail to Tampa i love trains and it will take a lot of cars of Interstate 4 and interstate 95 the thing is we can’t keep making our roads and highway bigger we need more transportation in Florida and around the country. For those who are complain about the trains need to travel down i-4 and i-95 and see we need this badly and this make more jobs for people. And trains will do the job.
