Hello from a hot but lovely day at Walt Disney World! We had a full day here at the Most Magical Place on Earth, starting our day out at the Magic Kingdom. We found some interesting things to show you, so let’s get started!
On our way through the Transportation and Ticket Center, we noticed that the archways leading to the Magic Kingdom Express Monorail and the Ferryboat had both been painted blue ahead of the 50th Anniversary celebrations. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Once in the park, we found that nothing new had been added to Cinderella Castle, but instead, the large machinery and equipment had been cleared out of the moat.
The large crane that was surrounded by construction walls behind Cinderella Castle was gone too, as were the walls. This area is open now, allowing guests to use this pathway once again.
Nearby on Cinderella Castle Stage, the right side inlets were also covered by footing patches.
In Tomorrowland, we found more patching taking place on the already-painted legs of Cool Ship. We had thought the silver was the final coat, but it looks like that is not the case.
We found two more patches of pavement work in Tomorrowland, again closing this side of the walkway to guests in between Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and the Tomorrowland Speedway.
A noticeable amount of temporary supports have been removed from underneath the illuminated canopy of TRON Lightcycle / Run, highlighting the elegant curve of the track even more now that the view of it is less obstructed.
Construction workers were busy today in man lifts welding parts of the illuminated canopy.
We found more pavement work in Fantasyland as well, mirroring a patch that was done yesterday. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Though they languished for some time through the surrounding roof’s refurbishment, the red roof of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the green roof of Sir Mickey’s have finally been repainted. They are very close to their original colors, but no longer look faded from the sun.
The concrete planter just outside of Pirates of the Caribbean that was covered in scrim fabric has been uncovered to reveal fresh concrete.
Though we had no major changes to report today from the Jungle Cruise, we were sad to see that the second set of butterfly animatronics was still not moving.
While checking out the construction updates for the day, we saw more filming early in the morning as we have seen the past few days. It looked like these young actresses were enjoying some Dole Whip!
Turning our attention to merchandise, we found a new Inside Out open edition pin featuring Disgust at the Emporium for $9.99.
Next, we found a line of colorful tie-dye coordinating crop hoodie and shorts pieces, each featuring a different classic character. Keep an eye out for our article with additional information!
Our favorite find at the Magic Kingdom were these Marvel-themed bracelets by Alex and Ani. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Next, we headed to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, where we found two more spinning tops at Fantasia Gifts for $12.99 each.
On our way out, we discovered yet another piece painted blue in preparation for the 50th Anniversary. This soda machine alcove is somewhat tucked away, but it was not overlooked by the painters.
After that, we headed to Disney Springs, where we stumbled upon these new graphic print boxers at World of Disney for $24.99 each.
We also found a coordinating shirt and leggings set at World of Disney perfect for dog lovers. Read more information on this apparel in our article here.
Our favorite merchandise find at Disney Springs was the women’s apparel and Minnie ear headband additions to the new tropical line. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
While we were at Disney Springs, we spotted the best balloon we’ve seen in a while— this “Up” themed balloon featuring Carl, his iconic house, and Russel. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful day at Walt Disney World today, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
