Welcome to a beautiful holiday weekend at the Universal Orlando Resort. As soon as we arrived at the resort, we found new signage in place for the new health and safety policies.
Universal Orlando has updated their policy to state that fully vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear face coverings indoors and while on attractions.
Right away, we noticed that a majority of guests were not wearing face coverings indoors.
We’ve noticed a lot of guests are leaving trash around the park, and there seems to be a shortage of Park Services Team Members. First thing in the morning, we found left over pizza and face masks. Hopefully, guests learn to clean up after themselves.
Bruce is ready for the holiday weekend! The rope has returned and he’s looking a lot less awkward now.
As usual, lines for food were long all around the park.
We found a short line for food, waited, and got to the front of the line only to find out they didn’t have the ingredients ready for nachos. Moving on.
Some people have it all figured out.
Even though it’s a busy holiday weekend, the backstage path between parks was not open when we walked by. Looks like we’re going to take the scenic route through CityWalk over to Islands of Adventure.
Everyone is looking for a shady spot to hang out and escape the heat.
It would be great if guests cleaned up after themselves instead of leaving trash everywhere. This is sad.
There’s a shirtless guy buying popcorn in Marvel Super Hero Island.
It’s a busy day, but the crowds don’t feel terrible. Now that the rides and queues have higher capacities, it seems like there are a lot less people just wandering through the park.
One of the Toon Lagoon signs now has construction walls around it. Both signs have been barricaded recently, but now walls have gone up around one of them.
The lines for Cathy’s Ice Cream and Comic Strip Cafe were long and almost run into each other. Universal Orlando really needs to improve on these food lines.
New Skull Island: Reign of Kong shirts are available from the cart near the exit of the attraction. The adult size is $25 and the youth size is $20.
Jurassic Park River Adventure had a 75 minute wait while VelociCoaster had a 45 minute wait.
This is the first time we’ve been able to see the excited facial expressions of the guests riding VelociCoaster. Everyone looks to be enjoying the ride!
Guests are enjoying the exhibits in the Discovery Center, including You Bet Jurassic.
A new set of pressed pennies has arrived in Jurassic Park, including one for the Grand Opening VelociCoaster. Get more details and check out the other designs in our post here.
We see many guests in the gift shops around the resort no longer wearing masks now that the policy has changed.
More trash abandoned on a table in CityWalk.
Thanks for joining us today around the parks. We’ll be back again soon, so be sure to keep following Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates from the Universal Orlando Resort!
No chance those kids on Velociraptor are fully vaxxed/older than 12.
