Since February, teams at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been hard at work restoring the bioluminescent effects on the pavement in Pandora – The World of Avatar. The bioluminescent paint doesn’t last long under the bright Orlando sun, so repainting occurs regularly.
The areas where repainting has recently taken place are blockaded to allow the paint to dry. This can cause traffic issues in the often-busy Pandora, including detouring attraction queues.
The water that usually flows from this “floating” mountain has been stopped, so the paint isn’t washed away.
A closer look at the freshly painted areas.
The paint provides a forest-esque color scheme to the pathways during the daytime, but it really transforms the land after dusk.

What’s the point? Nobody can see it anymore because AK closes at 7, ALL Summer long!!! It’s ridiculous. One of the best parts of the entire park is being missed by thousands of people everyday, in fact, most people I talk to don’t even know that it’s there!!!! Maybe Disney should concentrate on things that guests can ACTUALLY, do, stay at, ride, etc, instead of painting something that NOBODY can see untill “maybe, just possibly” Fall when it gets darker earlier….. Providing Disney doesn’t close the park at 5 again, then complain about not having enough patrons to justify employment of cast members.
How lovely. Save Splash Mountain!! Expand the park to add Tiana’s place, a Cajun restaurants and character meet-and-greet of The Princess and the Frog characters. And please let Splash Mountain stay as it is. To be cherished and appreciated.
