With masks no longer required outdoors, Relaxation Stations are closing throughout Walt Disney World. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Launch Bay has been operating as a Relaxation Station for the past ten months. The additional seating, tables, and distancing markers have been removed, and Launch Bay has reopened as just a walkthrough exhibit.

As it is no longer a Relaxation Station and is indoors, masks are now required throughout Star Wars Launch Bay.

There are still some physical distancing markers and directional arrows to encourage guests to maintain a safe distance when enjoying the Star Wars props and displays.

The Launch Bay Theater is not currently operating.

Character meet-and-greets have yet to return to Walt Disney World, so these areas are still closed.

  1. I thought Launch Bay was permanently closed after losing its status as a relaxation spot, what the legit heck, it was never meant to be permanent and only meant as a temporary experience before the 2019 grand opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, it’s open and Launch Bay has very little reason of existing nowadays, aside from Kylo Ren being replaced by Vader, and Chewie how on earth was he at Galaxy’s Edge and Launch Bay at the same time, it’s like having Mickey Mouse in two locations(at both SWGE and SWLB) at the same time at Town Square Theater on Main Street and at Pete’s Silly Sideshow at Storybook Circus, I thought this would be walled up and transformed into a new character experience similar to rival Universal Orlando’s new character experience, but with characters from the animated TV shows of The Owl House, Big City Greens, Amphibia, Monsters at Work(the new Disney+ show based upon the Monsters Inc movie), and the upcoming titular stars of The Ghost and Molly McGee, since DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATION had a huge success with Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, why not incorporate the other DTVA characters and shows into the park too

  2. This is legitimately disgusting that Launch Bay is NOT closed for good, I thought they were closing it all up after 5/16/2021, and announce a new experience that would had taken its place that only the heads at Disney know about

Did you ask a cast member when this experience will close for good, I hope they respond, “Launch Bay will be permanently closed by the end of July, and we’ll start work on a new Disney TV character experience immediately and will open it up by mid November”
