The EPCOT entrance area has been through a lot for the past two years, but progress “keeps moving forward.” Today, we were happy to discover that some of the “temporary” fencing around the east side of the entrance has been removed. It’s been a while since we have seen progress in this area, so let’s take a quick look back at the project.
This project dates all the way back to 2019, when the entrance reimagining began. Pictured above is the east area leading to EPCOT. Construction is well underway, and this picture offers a nice view from above to grasp the scope of the project.
Jumping ahead a few months to March 2020, the fencing had been pushed back as landscaping began in the planter beds. This photo shows the fencing up closer to the turnstiles.
Today, most of the fencing is gone! As you can see in the background of the photo, not all of the fencing has been removed, but we’re still happy to see this area start to open up.
This area is just north of the disability parking area, so this will help make entry to the park easier for these guests and others that park on this side.
If you look close, you can catch a glimpse of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind show building. It’s painted light blue here to “blend” in with the sky.
This new pathway leads right to security.
Thew much more open area looks way more inviting, even as you exit.
