Testing has been ongoing for the various technical elements of “Harmonious”, EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular expected to debut later this year. During the day, the barges for the show will act as fountains, while they will come to life with lights, screens, and water effects at night. One of these effects includes a “screen” of water filling the ring centerpiece, which images and video can be projected onto.

Today, the waterfall screen was being tested, with water spraying across one half of the ring. Water screens have been used in several nighttime spectaculars at Disney Parks, including Fantasmic! and Rivers of Light, but never from a barge like this.

The water can be seen in these photos on the left half, almost looking like a sheet of cellophane stretched from top to bottom.

Just the water was spraying and nothing else was being tested.

    • The wind may not affect the ‘waterfall screen’ if they use air curtains on either side of the water spray

  1. Show cancelled due to light breeze. But really though, with pyro and other systems affecting the air around this thing, they will never be able to get a solid image on this thing. And if you aren’t directly in front of it, you aren’t going to see much, if anything at all. Just look at world of color. The water screens from behind are very hard to see due to the projector being on one side. It looks like a blurry mess. Can we just sell this thing to Universal or whoever has the Stargate license now. It would be a great set piece in a Stargate attraction

    • We need an HOA for EPCOT to prevent people putting ugly barges into the Lake. I would approve of a big Figment Dance Party Pontoon, but unless this Stargate is functional, it we should vote to remove it immediately
