Fried Chicken Removed From New Menu in Trail’s End Restaurant at Walt Disney World

Disney just announced moments ago that the popular Trail’s End Restaurant located at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will reopen in just a few weeks on July 17th. Along with the reopening announcement came a few updates.

The restaurant will now operate as Family-Style dining, and the popular fried chicken has been removed from the menu it seems. According to Disney, the dinner menu includes: “hushpuppies and skillet cornbread with a chopped garden salad for the table. The family-style Smokehouse Skillet comes with pecan-smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken, andouille sausage, fingerlings potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. Pork spare ribs, peel n’ eat shrimp, and cornbread-crusted salmon are available as tasty add-ons to your meal.” And for dessert, “a wagon load of ice cream, toppings, brownies, cookies, and chocolate-covered bacon! Adults can even kick back with Moonshine Cocktails.”

It’s possible that the fried chicken will be added later on due to popular guest demand, just like the noodles at ‘Ohana.

  1. How DARE they take FRIED CHICKEN off of the menu at Trails End! that’s worse then taking noodles off of Ohana! what is Hoopty Doo going to do? serve ROASTED chicken? that’s stupid!!! they need to think like a tourist that is on vacation….who the heck wants to eat ROASTED chicken? I’m coming all the way from California and if I wanted to eat healthy I’d do it at home! BRING BACK THE FRIED CHICKEN!!!!

  2. Bring back the fried chicken, my husband is so sad. We always go there for the fried chicken.

  3. Not bringing back the original menu for trails end will disappoint a lot of guests. This is our favorite restaurant and if your going to cheap out, we won’t be booking. Not bringing back the deserts and fried chicken would just not be worth eating there.

  4. So if they can’t get fried chicken at TE – who knows when Hoop-Dee-Doo will make a comeback…

  5. Very disappointing! This is the worst family style menu that exists! They took the best parts of Trails End away- Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Baked Potatoes, Chili, Mashed Potatoes.

Will NOT be returning, it’s like a platter of the worst hits from Whispering Canyon.

  6. They always find a way to take away the popular items and replacee with something much more costly.. What if you just wanted a piece of chicken some mashed potatoes and roll. The platters are already available at Wilderness Lodge.

  7. I love good fried chicken but it’s a messy, “pia” thing to make. If guests are fine without it, I’m sure WDW will be fine without it too. They’re just trying to make things easy. Kinda sad but that seems to be the Disney “MO” these days. Make it attractive but also make it easy, cheap, and profitable.

  8. I really hate all the family-style offerings. If I’m paying a high price, let me choose what I want from a menu vs. bringing a pile of overpriced slop to the table. Much rather have quality over quantity.
