Hello and welcome to a quite humid, but still magical morning at Walt Disney World! Today we saw the return of a beloved Haunted Mansion scene, new additions to Jungle Cruise, and much more. So let’s jump right in!
This morning we decided to take a trip on “the world famous” Jungle Cruise! Onboard, we found that some floating props had been added around the new sunken boat in the classic hippo scene. Cast Members are also now filling guests into every available space on boats, with the only physical distancing measure still in place being the plastic divider between guests and skippers.
Over in Tomorrowland, we’ve seen almost the complete removal of the 1994 “gear floor.” It won’t be too long until it is officially gone and completely replaced by generic pavement.
Construction is still underway on TRON Lightcycle / Run, where more netting has recently been added.
Around the parks we continue to see the removal of physical distancing markers throughout queues. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and Liberty Square Riverboat now join that growing list. Click here to see other attractions inside Magic Kingdom that no longer have physical distancing markers in place.
During the pandemic Disney has had to adjust and alter certain entrances and exits to help control the flow of traffic. We are now starting to see the return of classic entranceways at buildings such as Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe and It’s a Small World.
Gaston’s Fountain has now been shut off for several weeks, and as a result has taken on a less than stunning appearance. One that I’m sure that the “pure paragon” himself would not be so pleased with. We overheard guests in line for Gaston’s Tavern remarking about the murky state of the water today. We hope to see the fountain return in all of it’s glory very soon.
“Welcome Foolish Mortals” or should I should I say welcome back to the stretching room! Since the reopening of the parks, guests have missed the iconic “stretching room” scene inside of The Haunted Mansion. We are happy to announce that it is finally back! So make sure to stop by and say hello to everyone’s favorite Ghost Host next time you’re in Magic Kingdom. Or, just watch our video of it from today right here!
Max Goof waves hello during A Goofy Cavalcade!
“Everybody’s got a Laughin’ Place” and now so does Magic Kingdom once again! Laughin’ Place Play Area has officially returned. Multiple play areas have recently reopened around Walt Disney World, such as Dumbo the Flying Elephant’s queue playground, Family Play Zone Playground in EPCOT, and more.
Over at Liki Tiki, which has been closed since the parks reopening, we once again heard the beating of drums coming from the speakers inside of the tiki statues. We even saw some of the spouts misting out bits of water. Hopefully this signals the return of the water play area very soon.
We bounced over to Main Street U.S.A to say TTFN to Tigger before heading out!
Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, The Game Station has officially returned. Arcades around Disney Resort Hotels are popping back up all around for the first time since 2020.
That brings us to the end of our day! Thanks for following us around Walt Disney World, we hope you had a great time. How do you feel about pre-shows around the parks returning? Leave us a comment letting us know! Have a great day, and we’ll “See ya real soon!”
