Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tram transportation in Walt Disney World parking lots has been unavailable for a year. It looks like Disney is preparing to return trams to service, however, as we saw Cast Members setting up poles and chains in a tram loading area at EPCOT.

This is at the east side of the EPCOT entrance, where guests would queue up to board a tram and disembark from trams.

No return date has been announced for tram service, but it’s rumored that parking Cast Members have been recalled. Capacity at the theme parks is gradually being increased and physical distancing is being reduced, so it would make sense for tram service to return as the summer rush begins at Walt Disney World.

  1. Don’t get your hopes up, yet. They’re just swapping out ropes for chains. Nothing to see, here.

  2. If the trams at EPCOT operate at a confirmed date, in which there isn’t a confirmed date right now, I hope they decide that the EPCOT trams will only run service year round to the east side of the EPCOT parking lot, in which that includes the Explore and Wonder parking sections. That may mean that the trams to the west side of the EPCOT parking lot, in which these include the Discover and Create parking sections will not operate anytime except seasonally or if crowds start to fill up further than the normal amount.
