Universal’s Epic Universe Coming “In a Couple of Years,” Will Be Biggest U.S. Universal Park

Today, we learned a few more details about the new Epic Universe theme park coming to Universal Studios Orlando.

According to NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell, this will be the biggest Universal theme park in the United States. The park is being constructed on a 750-acre site that nearly doubles Universal’s total acreage.

The park will be anchored by strong IP content, including Nintendo, Dreamworks, and Illumination. Universal Studios Japan has already opened its Super Nintendo World earlier this year, and construction is also underway in Universal Studios Hollywood.

The park will be located 10-15 minutes from the other Universal parks, so it will be a bit of a different setup than guests are used to since Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are side by side. Epic Universe will also feature an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants, and more.

While this project has been delayed previously (we last reported until 2025), the CEO states that this will be opening “in a couple of years.”
