Disney has finally announced the replacement of The Wave… of American Flavors restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Steakhouse 71 will be a casual dining concept that gets its name from the resort’s opening year. It is an East Coast companion to Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel, which ironically has just been closed permanently.
You may recall rumors of “The Incredibles Steakhouse” going into this space. Our theory is that our sources likely heard about this new steakhouse featuring The Incredibles characters at times. We believe original plans called for a breakfast offering with The Incredibles characters slated to appear at it, which may or may not debut at some point in the future. Either way, The Incredibles did end up taking over the resort, being the focus of the new rooms currently being created inside the 50-year-old hotel.
A new dining experience is also coming to California Grill, but no details have been announced as of yet.
Hooray that it’s not Incredibles themed.
But… “casual” Steakhouse? Like a Ponderosa?
Better yet – why not put Chef Mickey’s there and put the steakhouse back where it was originally?
just what disney needed. another 60 bucks per steak house. of course, i guess if you can afford contemporary then you can afford those prices.
Steakhouse 71 is much better than the Incredibles steakhouse!
Awful
i guess more incredibles stickers cost too much?? so is this going to be an overpriced version of sizzler then lol
Another underwhelming change by WDW, more to come!!
Shoulda left The Wave.
