A WDWNT reader sent us this email being sent to Disney College Program participants offering them an opportunity to extend their experience and transfer to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser this Fall, ahead of its spring 2022 opening.

The email says that “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is seeking enthusiastic and courteous College Program Cast Members who excel at storytelling, anticipating needs and engaging with passengers as they embark on their voyage aboard the Halcyon starcruiser.”

In recent weeks, new details about the “land cruise” experience have been revealed, including how it will intersect with the story from Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, some of the new food offerings that will be served, and the fact that it will offer scavenger hunts during guests’ excursions to Batuu. With all of the immersive storytelling environments that will be part of guests’ stay, it seems that Walt Disney World is leaving themselves plenty of time to get Cast Members prepared for an experience unlike anything else.

Wow, Disney is recruiting newbies for the new $3500/night hotel. They must be suffering severe labor shortage. Imagine paying that much to enjoy services of college kids who normally would have worked at the food court at All Stars.

You might be surprised by how much some of the younger generation is into roleplaying games. This may be a perfect position for them to work, learn, and express themselves at the same time.

I am a little confused here. 1. College Program is being extended an opportunity prior to dedicated full and part-time cast. 2. Offering an extension to College program students for the Fall is 2021 so they can be a part of a hotel opening in the spring of 2022. Are we encouraging student to take a year or more off? Or 3. They are having trouble finding painter and need college student to finish the hotel.
