Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs is known for its eccentric decor and creative confectionaries, some of which rotate monthly. We stopped in to try August’s limited edition Rocky Road cake and the new Cookie Bite flavor, Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl.

Gideon’s Bakehouse is located in The Landing across from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.

We tried August’s The Rocky Road Cookie and evening exclusive Dark Coffee Cake Cookie earlier this month.

Rocky Road Cake Slice – $9

The chocolate cake is very moist and rich. The frosting is marshmallow and very sweet (as it should be). The marshmallow flavor isn’t very strong, but the consistency is very similar to whipped marshmallows. They also offer this frosting for sale in cups.

The candied almonds that coat the outside are not as crunchy as you might expect but have a good flavor. Nearly everything at Gideon’s is loaded with chocolate chips, and this is no exception. They sit in between the layers of the cake and add a nice texture.

The top chocolate layer is a rich dark chocolate ganache topped with a small swirl of marshmallow icing and a toasted marshmallow on top.

The cake is very rich and sweet. When you get all the elements in one bite, it nails the classic Rocky Road flavor. We enjoyed this and recommend it, especially for chocolate lovers.
Gideon’s Bites – $12

The Bites come in an assorted bag with six cookies, including a “mystery flavor.”

We received two Original chocolate Chip, one Cookies & Cream, one Pistachio Toffee Nut, one Mystery Flavor, and one of the new Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl.
Pistachio Toffee Nut

The Pistachio Toffee Cookie is covered in milk chocolate, with pistachio and chocolate chips inside. Crunchy toffee plus a sprinkle of sea salt top the cookie. It’s a delicious twist on the Original Chocolate Chip, if you’re a fan of pistachio.
Original Chocolate Chip

Gideon’s Original Chocolate Chip cookies prove you can’t go wrong with a classic. Covered in milk chocolate and topped with even more chocolate chips and sea salt, we definitely weren’t complaining about having two in our bag.
Cookies & Cream

The Cookies & Cream is a vanilla bean cookie stuffed and topped with Double Stuff Oreos. It tastes like a cookies & cream milkshake wrapped in milk chocolate.
Mystery Flavor: Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip

The mystery flavor was the Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip cookie that was April’s flavor of the month. We enjoyed it just as much covered in chocolate.
*NEW* Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl

The Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl has been in regular cookie form before, but it recently debuted as a Bite. Soft and slightly salty, this bite is covered in milk chocolate and peanut butter chips with sea salt on top, with house-made candied peanuts inside. We highly recommend this.

This place is massively overrated. Went a few weeks ago and was throughly unimpressed.
