In a press release, Disney once again referred to EPCOT’s new festival home as an “area” instead of a “center”, confirming the multi-level festival pavilion project was canceled.
The festival center was originally announced as part of the overhaul of EPCOT and was featured in concept art. In July of last year, amidst many construction projects being postponed or changed due to COVID-19, Disney confirmed they were reworking the World Celebration neighborhood, and later began to refer to a “festival area” instead of a pavilion.
The “reimagined festival area” will be next to an enchanted garden in the officially launched World Celebration neighborhood, which is also home to Spaceship Earth and Creations Shop.

Oh goody, we’re probably going to get a tent
This is yet another bummer in the long line of disappointment that the Disney Parks division has been the past few years.
That’s okay because what if that festival pavilion would have been too distracting anyway?
