Refurbishments Scheduled for Swimming Pools at Disney’s Contemporary and Fort Wilderness Resorts Starting January 2023

Two pools at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will be closed beginning in January 2023 for refurbishment, including the Feature Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Contemporary pool

The Feature Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be unavailable in the early winter of 2023 while it undergoes maintenance work. Disney expects the pool will only be unavailable from January through April of that year.

This follows the construction currently underway at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Guests staying at this Disney Resort hotel may still enjoy the Bay Pool.

Cabin pool

Additionally, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will be unavailable beginning January through April 2023 while it undergoes maintenance work.

As an alternative, guests staying at this Resort may enjoy the Wilderness Swimmin’ pool.

Guests may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from guest rooms, guest cabins, and campsites between dusk and 9 a.m.

  1. I hope they enhance the one at the contemporary, especially kids splash place. It isn’t inside the gated area of the pool for one making it difficult for parents of multiples. It’s also nothing like you see at Poly nor Grand Floridian. A shame for a flagship monorail resort.

  2. I bet folks who have reservations this coming winter are relieved, since January 2023 is a full year and 4 months away, so they won’t be affected by these refurbs at all. It seems surprisingly early for this kind of closure announcement, but at least it makes vacation planning easier for some of us.
