VIDEO: We Did Whatever Disney Genie Told Us To Do at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s new Genie service, a free guide aimed at helping guests maximize their day in the parks, debuted 11 days ago. Genie tracks wait times for attractions, and lets guests know when it’s the best time to head for a particular ride.

Since Genie debuted, WDWNT’s own Eric Morton has tried a full day of following suggestions from Genie at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Now he’s testing the service at Disney’s Hollywood Studios see if the suggestions really did maximize what guests can do while minimizing wait times.

Take a look at the video and let us know if you’d like to see Eric try Genie at Animal Kingdom. For more like this, take a look at some of the extra benefits that come with the paid service, Genie+. The individual Lightning Lane paid reservation system debuted at the same time, so take a look at our guide on this service.

  1. That was interesting.

I wonder – if you were to assign the old ABCDE categories to rides, and then issue yourself a pretend ticket book with the old ratios, if the day would have gone any differently. Part of what those old designations did is ration the E ticket rides and encourage you to do more “fluff” attractions.
