Disney Avoids Mention of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser During Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade

Disney shared various previews during today’s Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade broadcast. We noticed, however, that they made no mention of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will open March 1, 2022, with 2-night “voyages” costing between $5,000 and $6,000, depending on the cabin type and number of guests. Disney has faced quite a bit of backlash for the price and many guests have apparently canceled their stays.

The “Star Wars” experience is meant to mirror a real-life cruise. Sailing with Disney Cruise Line can certainly get expensive, but Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been priced even higher for an experience that doesn’t actually leave the land.

  1. I wonder if they are making an extended edition of the original video and it wasn’t ready yet. You should bring up that possibility.

  2. I am absolutely the target audience for this; simultaneously a massive Star Wars fan and Disney Parks fan. And I would never pay the asking price for this experience, as cool as it sounds. I think this will end up being a major misstep, just like the theming and general not-much-to-do-here of Galaxy’s Edge.
