Space Mountain is Now Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland for a Limited Time

Space Mountain closed on Thursday at Disneyland to quickly change over to Hyperspace Mountain, a “Star Wars”-themed overlay in time for May the Fourth. The ride reopened Friday as scheduled, and we got a chance to ride!

Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain is the (apparently) permanent Space Mountain overlay in Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Star Wars fans on the West Coast are looking forward to next month’s Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Nites.

  1. We got to ride it on Friday. We loved it even more than the original Space Mountain. The theme was very appropriate for the ride. We were pleasantly surprised. What a treat!

  2. I just rode Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Resort for the 1st time on Thursday and I loved it so much more than Space Mountain. I’m on the side of keeping it Star Wars themed permanently. Ghost Mountain at Halloween and the original Space Mountain for a short time every year. Star Wars is the best.

  3. Love the original better…we have a whole star wars land! I vote to keep the original music…way better
