Space 220 Restaurant at EPCOT Unexpectedly Closes Early, Will Not Reopen Today

UPDATE: Despite Cast Members telling guests the restaurant would not reopen, we have now been told that Space 220 Restaurant is now open again.

Adventures by Carney just notified us on Twitter that the Space 220 Restaurant at EPCOT has just closed for the day with no explanation.

They said that they were waiting outside the restaurant, with a reservation, since 2:10 p.m. After 30 minutes, they were informed that Cast Members were not “taking anyone up to space” and the restaurant was “officially closed for the rest of the day — as of right now.”

Space 220 Restaurant opened last year at EPCOT on the premise of a unique experience. Guests are taken to the restaurant via “Stellarvator,” where they can watch their journey from Earth to the Centauri Space Station. It features large “windows” that display a view of space outside the restaurant. You can see a full photo and video tour here, and check out our latest review here.

Have you been notified that your Space 220 reservation will not be honored for today? Let us know in the comments below.
