Although Boarding Groups for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind remain a hot commodity even eight months after its opening on some days, we were surprised on our visit to EPCOT tonight to find that Boarding Groups are in fact still available even an hour and a half before park close!
Boarding Groups for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are made available daily at 7:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. to guests with EPCOT Park Pass reservations and then all guests with Park Hopper tickets respectively. For most of its lifetime, these Boarding Groups have gone fairly quickly. But we were surprised to find this evening that upon arriving at EPCOT nearly six and a half hours later, Boarding Groups were still available — and with a short return time of 50 minutes to boot!
EPCOT is still fairly busy tonight too, making this a surprising development for sure, but a welcome one.
These decreases in demand are largely par for the course, close to its transition into standard Standby and Lightning Lane, there were some days when Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups at Disney’s Hollywood Studios were fairly easy to pick up. Even over at Disneyland, demand has somewhat receded for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway groups, despite the attraction opening less than two weeks ago.
There’s still no word on when Cosmic Rewind will allow guests to board from the normal Standby line rather than using the Boarding Group system. TRON Lightcycle / Run at the Magic Kingdom will be using Boarding Groups when it opens April 4.

CM litterally sit board sometimes bc there is no real queue right now w a double preshow and a queue that could hold 2 hr waits and a very fast ride you think they would have dropped this quick.
Sorry if this is negative, but I’d like to see all of the Guardians crap removed from that attraction. It adds nothing. It’s just a result of Iger’s need to cram their existing IP into everything. Strip out the Guardians and just re-theme the ride to its original purpose – an educational instruction of the Big Bang. You can add whimsy, just create some original way/characters.
This happened multiple times in January when we were there – at least 4 days we went into EPCOT after 6pm and were able to grab a virtual queue slot.
