There has been a lot of speculation as to whether Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will become a regular Disney Genie+ attraction once TRON Lightcycle / Run opens this April. We now know that it will continue to be offered as an Individual Lightning Lane attraction.
Currently, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is available for standby — which is the free, regular line — or you can purchase Individual Lightning Lane through Disney Genie + to skip the line. Prices fluctuate depending on the crowd levels for the day, so be sure to check my Disney Experience for an up-to-date price.
TRON Lightcycle / Run will also be available for Individual Lightning Lane purchases during its soft and grand openings. The only two attractions that are available to purchase the Individual Lightning Lane tier at Magic Kingdom are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON. TRON is set to open on April 4, 2023, with a soft opening beginning March 20.
Individual Lightning Lane
When Disney Genie+ debuted back in October 2021, there were two categories. If you purchased Genie+, you could choose one of the offered attractions and skip the stand by line. Most of the rides in each of the four parks were included in the price.
The more popular rides, however, were offered through Individual Lightning Lane –which ranged in price from $7-$20+. Guests are allowed to purchase only two Individual Lightning Lane attractions per person, per day. You are not able to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane pass for the same attraction twice in one day.
Guests staying on Disney property can start booking their Individual Lightning Lane attractions as early as 7am. If you are not staying on property, you may start booking once the park that you’re visiting opens.
Individual Lightning Lane attractions:
- Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle Run (starting March 20)
- EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Animal Kingdom: Avatar: Flight of Passage
If you do not wish to purchase Individual Lightning Lane or Genie+, you can choose to wait in the stand by line. This is free of charge, but during peak times, lines can get really long. As of right now, only two attractions do not have a stand by line: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle/Run.
Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle/Run also both offer a virtual queue option. This is also free of charge, but you will need to be quick to reserve a spot as they fill up quickly. At 7am on the day of your visit, sign into your myDisney Experience app and click “Join Virtual Queue” to reserve your spot in line. Once your boarding group is called, you are given a window of one hour to get in line for your chosen ride.
Will you be purchasing Individual Lightning Lane or trying for the virtual queue for TRON? Let us know in the comments.
