TRON Lightcycle Run closed at 8:00 p.m. during most of its soft opening period. It then closed at 6:30 p.m. It will open at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.

TRON Lightcycle Run will have its official grand opening on April 4, at which point it will start operating the same hours as the rest of the park, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

It will not have a standby queue when it opens. Individual Lightning Lane and the virtual queue have been filling up quickly during the soft opening. We also learned that, despite significant changes to expected callback times, Disney is not accommodating late arrivals.

The opening of Tomorrowland Launch Depot and the launch of the new TRON Identity Program experience have also been delayed.

While merchandise for TRON Lightcycle Run will ultimately be unavailable at the Tomorrowland Launch Depot (formerly Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.) during the attraction’s official opening day, a pop-up shop may still be opening nearby that may allow guests to get their hands on the new collections teased to be coming to celebrate the opening of the newest coaster at Walt Disney World.

Earlier this month, reservations opened for the new TRON Identity Program, allowing guests the first opportunity to customize and personalize their very own action figure. While the program was set to begin on April 4, in conjunction with the official opening of the attraction, guests with opening day reservations should expect those reservations to be canceled, according to Guest Services. Guests who had reservations for the opening day of the experience are reportedly being offered a $90 gift certificate for the trouble.

While Guest Services confirmed the delayed opening of Tomorrowland Launch Depot and the cancelation of reservations for the TRON Identity Program, the reason for the delayed opening was not immediately shared. Both are currently still scheduled for the following day, April 5.

TRON Lightcycle Run

TRON Lightcycle Run is located right behind Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. It’s outside the park’s berm, and is housed in a sweeping white canopy, which helps hide a boxy show building. A walkway between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus is also available.

Guests enter by walking under the canopy, known as the Upload Conduit. Upon uploading to The Grid, guests will join Team Blue in a race to cross through eight energy gates before the opposing Team Orange.

As you approach the entrance, there are two TRON ride vehicles to the left. They serve two purposes – so you can try them out and know what to expect when you get inside, and they provide a nice photo op.

We previously reported that some individuals have reported issues with being able to fit into the ride vehicles, so this is a great place to try them out and make sure.

There are double-sided lockers before the load area so guests can safely stow their personal belongings. Lockers are unlocked with MagicBands or plastic ticket cards; MagicMobile tickets on smartphones do not work, and guests without physical ticket media must request a white RFID card from Cast Members.
