REVIEW: Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie Returns to Gideon’s Bakehouse for April 2023

For April 2023, the Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie has returned to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs.

Gideon's Bakehouse entrance sign

Gideon’s Bakehouse is at The Landing of Disney Springs and is typically very busy. They open at 10:00 a.m. but guests line up an hour early sometimes. A second location is at East End Market in Orlando.

In addition to the cookie, Coffee Toffee Vanilla Bean Cake is also available every Wednesday and Saturday of the month and the Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew is available. These treats are all limited time for the month of April only.

Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie – $6

This cookie has a vanilla base, then, as the name suggests, coffee, toffee, and chocolate chips with light sprinkles of coarse salt. Extra coffee is sprinkled on top for good measure.

The cookie is soft but firm enough to hold its shape. Like all Gideon’s cookies, it’s heavy. The taste is definitely coffee-forward, with toffee taking a back seat. It tastes similar to other Gideon’s cookies, but with a stronger coffee flavor. The coffee aftertaste is persistent.

We would place this in the middle of the pack for Gideon’s cookies. But it’s sure to please both coffee lovers and chocoholics.

While The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando within the Disney Springs Area first started welcoming guests last December, the hotel officially held its grand opening ceremony in February and is ready for guests to come in full force. The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando is an Official Walt Disney World Hotel. It features the same amenities as Drury Hotels nationwide along with a free shuttle to all Walt Disney World theme parks and early entry to the parks. They do not charge a resort fee on top of the nightly cost unlike many in the area.

FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) has chosen to cancel the planned onramp to cross over the interstate to gain entrance to the Disney Springs area in favor of another option to route traffic and hopefully alleviate some of the congestion in the area and on I-4.
