Ride testing has begun for attractions in the new World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland.
In an all new behind-the-scenes video posted to the Disney Parks Tik Tok page, Disney Imagineers give us a sneak peek of the Wandering Oaken Sliding Sleighs and Frozen Ever After attractions coming to World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland.
The video begins with Senior Ride Development Engineer Emily — who has been working on World of Frozen over the past five years — talking with World of Frozen behind her in the distance.
She is the lead vehicle engineer for Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs and the lead mechanical engineer for the installation and testing of Frozen Ever After.
There is scaffolding surrounding the new attraction, but we still see a roller coaster racing through without riders. The ride vehicles are designed to look like sleighs and are blue with white triangles lining the top and bottom. There is a small red diamond shape in the center of a larger white diamond shape with two smaller white triangles on either side.
We also got a quick glimpse of the ride vehicles for Frozen Ever After. The ride vehicles feature the same bench seating as the EPCOT version, however, they are not shaped like a Viking-style boat. For reference, there is a model pictured above of the new ride vehicles being used at Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Hong Kong’s Frozen Ever After attraction offers guests a unique chance to fully enter the world of Arendelle and interact with lifelike Audio-Animatronics figures of their favorite Frozen characters.
We reported that they will also feature an updated Elsa audio-animatronic — and possibly the attraction’s other animatronics. Instead of having Elsa’s facial expressions projected onto the audio-animatronic head, all of her features are built-in.
Disney announced that World of Frozen will open in November 2023.

World of Frozen
Three “Frozen”-inspired lands are being developed at Hong Kong Disneyland (World of Frozen), Tokyo DisneySea (Frozen Kingdom), and Walt Disney Studios Park (Kingdom of Arendelle).
Versions of Frozen Ever After are planned for all the lands. The original ride opened in the Norway Pavilion of EPCOT in 2016, replacing Maelstrom. While the EPCOT ride’s animatronics have projected faces, at least the Elsa figure at Hong Kong Disneyland will have a real animatronic face.
Playhouse in the Woods will be the third attraction for World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland. Concept art, Cast Member costumes, and ride vehicle maquettes for the land were displayed at D23 Expo last year. A trio of World of Frozen posters was released earlier this year.
At Tokyo DisneySea, Frozen Kingdom will be part of the Fantasy Springs expansion. It’s set to have the unique Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure.
The Kingdom of Arendelle is part of a massive expansion to Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, too.
