A new kiosk that offers guests the chance to make a personalized Villain-Con I.D. badge has been installed in Universal Studios Florida.
We found this new kiosk at Evil Stuff, the recently-opened gift shop for Villain-Con Minion Blast.
Personalized Villain-Con I.D. Badge – $10
By using this machine, villains and non-villains alike can make their own custom villain identification badge for $10.
The entire process takes place through input via a self-service touch screen embedded in the kiosk. Guests are able to design their entire Villain-Con I.D. badge before choosing whether or not to pay for it.
All you have to do to begin is just tap the screen.
Upon starting the design process, guests are prompted to enter their “villain name” that will be printed on the badge.
After that, the kiosk will prompt guests to take their villain photo, with a second tap required when they’re ready.
The machine will then take three photos, and guests can choose their favorite option to be printed on the badge.
Both the top and main screens will change as the villain I.D. badge is being designed.
Once your Villain-Con I.D. badge is complete, you’ll be asked if you want to pay for the badge and print it, or simply choose, “I don’t want to be a villain today” if you’re no longer interested.
Here’s a closer look at the badge design. As you can see, the background of your photo is digitally removed and replaced with a gray background. The badge features the Villain-Con logo at the top, your photo, villain name, and the issue date. The badge itself is orange with a purple border along the bottom of the card.
If you decide to buy the badge, the kiosk will prompt you to insert cash or swipe a credit card to pay the $10 fee. Though if you change your mind last minute, you can still hit cancel.
As a fun touch, if you decide to back out after your Villain-Con I.D. badge is finalized, the kiosk screen will say “Villain progress terminated” as the image of your badge fades out.
This is the third iteration of a custom I.D. badge kiosk at Universal Orlando Resort; there is also a Jurassic World I.D. Badge machine in Universal’s Islands of Adventure and an Agent I.D. machine at The Bourne Stuntacular in Universal Studios Florida.
