Yet another Halloween-themed treat is available for purchase at Magic Kingdom as Walt Disney World continues to celebrate spooky season. The Gravedigger Popcorn Mix, a chocolatey medley of flavors built on a caramel popcorn base, has been added to the menu at the Main Street Confectionery, further adding to the list of the park’s seasonal treats that are as sweet as they are scary.
Gravedigger Popcorn Mix – $15.99
The Gravedigger Popcorn Mix is a limited-time offering at Main Street Confectionery, which is located on Main Street, U.S.A. near the Magic Kingdom entrance. The My Disney Experience app describes the treat as “caramel popcorn layered with Chopped TWIX, M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies, Crushed Chocolate Cookies, Mini Marshmallows, and Dark Chocolate Drizzle.”
The dessert combines the chocolatey sweetness of the various candies and cookies with the light, airy sugariness of the marshmallows. Throw in the slight savoriness of the caramel popcorn and the slight bitterness provided by the dark chocolate drizzle, and you have a balanced treat.
The darkness of the chocolate cookies and dark chocolate drizzle contribute to the treat’s spooky aura created by its Gravedigger Mix moniker. The bright white marshmallows add a pop of color that offsets the darkness of the rest of the dessert.
The Haunted Mansion Gravediggers are a fan-favorite part of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.
This continues a trend of festive popcorns available at the Main Street Confectionery. The Kernel Kitchen, which is located inside the Main Street Confectionery, served red, white, and blue popcorn for the 4th of July earlier this year.
Halloween Treats at Magic Kingdom
For those who would like to start eating Halloween candies and sweets a few months in advance, Magic Kingdom has you covered. A number of Halloween-themed treats were released at the Main Street Confectionery earlier this month.
A myriad of new caramel apples are included in the shop’s seasonal offerings, one of which is themed after a Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern. The Main Street Confectionery also has a festive spider web sugar cookie and two new Halloween cupcakes, rounding out its offerings with an M&M-topped rice cereal treat
These specific treats are also available at Big Top Treats located inside the Big Top Souvenirs shop in Fantasyland.
Halloween at Walt Disney World
The Halloween season is in full swing at Walt Disney World Resort, as Magic Kingdom started hosting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, its annual autumn celebration, on August 11. The events are held on select nights between August 11 and November 1, and the separately-ticked event is already completely sold out for several nights. As of August 17, every remaining August date was sold out in addition to seven offerings in September and Halloween night itself.
At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests can load up on candy and experience exclusive entertainment options including the twice-nightly Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and Disney’s-Not-So-Spooky Spelltacular, hosted by Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
For those whose interest was piqued by the Gravedigger Mix, there are several exclusive food and beverage offerings available. Not sure which one to try? You’re in luck, as we’ve tried and reviewed all of them.
