Tonight is the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash for 2023, and with this year’s event comes the debut appearances of two new Disney Villains, plus one Pixar villain new to the event. Let’s take a look.
Lotso from ‘Toy Story 3’
Lotso is a meet and greet rather than a treat trail for Oogie Boogie Bash.
You can find him in Pixar Pier, outside of Toy Story Midway Mania.
Lotso is the main villain of “Toy Story 3,” and was the former ruler over Sunnyside Daycare, despite his advertised sweet, huggable nature.
We got a big wave from him during our meet and greet.
Lotso is known to smell like strawberries, though we didn’t notice that scent when we gave him a hug.
Yokai from ‘Big Hero 6’
Yokai is one of the previously-advertised new villains for this year’s event, and can be found along a treat trail in the newly-opened San Fransokyo Square.
Yokai, a.k.a. Robert Callaghan, was voiced by James Cromwell, and is the main antagonist of “Big Hero 6.”
Yokai stands upon a platform advertising Krei Tech Industries in his treat trail, which is where his daughter was a test pilot in the film; her disappearance during a test of teleportation technology is the reason he snapped and adopted his alter ego.
Yokai wears a black trench coat over a black stealth suit, though his iconic accessory is his white, yellow-eyed Kabuki mask with red stripes.
Judge Doom from ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’
The final new Disney Villain for this year’s event is none other than Judge Doom, from the 1988 film, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” He wears his signature black suit and overcoat, round sunglasses, and a black hat; he also walks around with a cane.
The set for Doom’s treat trail is decorated to look like a brick warehouse, with a platform, a barrel of Dip, and a Dip Machine, as seen at the end of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”
During our time in his treat trail, which is located right behind Soarin’ Around the World, Doom reenacted the infamous Dip scene with a cartoon shoe.
The barrel of Dip smoked and leaked the toxic green goo when the cartoon shoe was dipped inside — an addition to the experience from last night’s Cast Member preview, which did not include any such effects.
Doom also sits on his Dip Machine from time to time as guests pass through his trail.

Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party takes place in Disney California Adventure each fall. Historically, the party has included attractions such as Villains Grove, the Headless Horseman, Frightfully Fun Parade, treat trails, Mickey’s Trick and Treat dance party, and photo opportunities. All lands within the park remain open during the Halloween Party, including Avengers Campus.
Unique meet-and-greet opportunities include various Disney Villains. Other past meet and greets included Clarabelle, Daisy, and Minnie posing as the Sanderson Sisters from “Hocus Pocus,” Bruno from “Encanto,” King Mickey and Donald from Kingdom Hearts, and Hercules.
