After a long absence, the star of stage and screen, Miss Piggy, has returned in her statue form to her rightful place in the Muppets Fountain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Miss Piggy Returns to Muppets Fountain
We first reported that Miss Piggy had been removed for refurbishment at the end of September. Now, one month later, the statue has returned to her rightful place in Muppets Courtyard.
The water flows evenly in the statue, and everything looks like it’s been scrubbed clean.
The fountain stands directly in front of Muppet*Vision 3D. For the past month, the fountain has been surrounded by planters as the porcine star went backstage to makeup.
Much of the detail pant on these pieces looks either clean or re-painted; the patina on these characters looks fresh and bright.
We noticed that the character refresh did not include structural repairs to the fountain itself.
This patched spot, for example, was not further repaired while the fountain was under refurbishment.

The Muppets at Walt Disney World
Miss Piggy and the Muppets have had a permanent presence at Walt Disney World Resort since the opening of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 1991. The show was directed by Jim Henson and was one of the last projects the iconic puppeteer worked on before his death in 1990. The show has been mostly unchanged since its debut, but new projection mapping effects were added recently.
The Muppets have been represented with various other shows, attractions, and eateries since The Walt Disney Company acquired the brand in 2004. A live show titled “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” debuted in the Liberty Square section of Magic Kingdom in 2016 but closed in late 2019.
In 2016, Pizza Planet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios became PizzeRizzo ahead of the opening of Toy Story Land. The Liberty Inn dining location in The American Adventure at EPCOT received a Sam the Eagle-inspired overhaul in 2020 when it became Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue Restaurant.
The Muppets Mobile Lab, a free-roaming audio-animatronic featuring Dr. Benson Honeydew and Beaker, appeared at EPCOT in 2016. The two characters currently appear at the park (in video form) in the Odyssey Pavilion as hosts of the Brew-Wing Lab, a booth offered as part of the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
Kermit and Miss Piggy will host a show at the Theater of the Stars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during offerings of Disney Jollywood Nights, a holiday party that will run on select nights from November 11 through December 20.
