Blizzard Beach was closed on November 23 (Thanksgiving) and November 24, 2023, due to cold weather. It has been open and operating for the past few days but will be closed again on Tuesday, November 28, and Wednesday, November 29.

The forecast for Orlando (via Weather.com) indicates temperatures as low as 45° on Tuesday with a high of only 59° and cloud cover. Wednesday is supposed to be slightly warmer, with sun and a high of 67° but a low of 46°.

Though the rest of the week is supposed to have temperatures back up in the 70s and 80s, thunderstorms are incoming, so it’s possible Blizzard Beach will remain closed or close early on some days. For now, the park is scheduled to be open on Thursday, November 30.

Closures due to weather, particularly cold temperatures and lightning, are not uncommon for Central Florida water parks. In the 2022 – 2023 winter season, Blizzard Beach had to close several times due to cold temperatures. It closed early on November 16 this year due to significant rain. More closures are likely later in the winter.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park reopened on November 6, 2023, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park closed for the season. The two water parks have been alternating operations since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Blizzard Beach is usually open from November to March.
