Renovations continue on Disney Vacation Club villas at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, as well as on the actual boardwalk. During construction work, the DVC showroom is closed, as is the main entrance to Screen Door General Store. Crews have also been working on the boardwalk outside Big River Grille & Brewing Works and Jellyrolls.

Screen Door General Store

Work has continued for the past few weeks, with shrubs still blocking the entrance during our multiple visits.

Plywood and tarps are attached to the store’s doors and windows.

Through the planters, we could see some of the floor work.

The shop is still open and A-frame signs point to the open entrance.

Inside, another A-frame sign directs guests to the available exit.

Big River and Jellyrolls

On the BoardWalk outside Big River, some wood was torn up around a fire hydrant. A triangle of green fencing blocked the hole in the ground during work.

During one of our recent visits, the main entrance to Big River was closed.

More shrubs in rolling planters blocked the main entrance and ran down past the DVC showroom.

By our next visit, however, work in front of Big River was completed.

The main entrance reopened.

The planters were moved to the other side of the showroom, blocking some of the path in front of Jellyrolls.

The main Jellyrolls entrance is still available.

We saw a crew member working on a light above the Jellyrolls entrance.

DVC Showroom

Cast Members told us they are replacing concrete and renovating the upstairs villas.

The DVC showroom is being renovated to match the guest villas.

Tarps blocked the windows of the villas, so we couldn’t see the ongoing construction work.

Through the planters, we saw where planks and pavement were torn up to be replaced.

When construction shifted to Jellyrolls, it also shifted further down in front of the villas.

Concrete replacement began at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn last month, but refurbishment work has been underway at the resort and boardwalk for months. The Cake Bake Shop remains under construction, with an expected opening in early 2024.

Carousel Coffee, which first opened in December 2022, had a short refurbishment in September. Crews were also working on the façade of BoardWalk Deli in September.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is supposed to open a kiosk on Disney’s BoardWalk this year.
