Scaffolding is now down at BoardWalk Deli at Disney’s BoardWalk after going up in August, with some remnants of the refurbishment work now visible.

Scaffolding and scrim went up earlier last month at BoardWalk Deli, covering the entire exterior of the location.

Now that it’s down, we noticed a few signs of refurbishment on the marquee. The red and white striped awnings that were once present between the columns are also still missing.

Here’s what the exterior previously looked like.

Just below the marquee itself, there are many small holes in the wall.

The holes run across the length of the front of the location under the marquee.

On the marquee itself, small white circles are now present in the gold lettering of “BoardWalk Deli.”

The white circles really stand out against the gold, though its unclear as to why they’re there.

In the columns next to the center window, there is also a large crease that appears to have been filled or covered on either side.

Disney’s BoardWalk Refurbishment

Disney’s BoardWalk has been undergoing an overall refurbishment over the past few years. The BoardWalk Bakery closed to make way for the BoardWalk Deli. In December 2022, the new Carousel Coffee shop and seating area opened, replacing Dundy’s Sundries, which closed permanently in October. Decorations continued to be added over the following weeks.

The lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn was remodeled earlier this year with minimal changes.

Trattoria al Forno and the Pizza Window temporarily closed while crews worked on the guest room balconies above. A new Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs location will take over the BoardWalk To Go kiosk.

The Cake Bake Shop, taking over the former ESPN Club Space, is still in the midst of construction and reportedly will not open this year as originally announced.
