Ginger and Debra have returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for the 2023 holiday season. The gingerbread giraffe (Ginger) and zebra (Debra) can be found in the Jambo House lobby. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge also features a large Christmas tree and plenty of other holiday decorations to enjoy.
Gingerbread Giraffe and Zebra
Ginger and Debra are created by the bakery team led by Pastry Chef Lexy Ross and will be on display through December 31.
The “Gingeraffe” is returning for the third year, while this is Debra the Zebra’s second year. A sign notes that Ginger is 7 feet tall, and you can compare her in size to Humphrey, visible on the Uzima Savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Debra is comparable in size to Raden, who you can see on the Sunset Savanna.
The sculpting ingredients include 34 pounds of honey, 27 pounds of flour, 1.5 pounds of gingerbread spices, 55 pounds of white modeling chocolate, and 12 pounds of dark modeling chocolate.
There are two hidden gingerbread Mickeys in the display. Let us know if you spot either of them.
The Gingeraffe Cookie is available for purchase at The Mara nearby.
Christmas Tree and Other Decorations
Outside, the porte-cochere is decorated with garland decorations.
The garland is adorned with bows featuring an African-style print, yellow and orange streamers resembling desert plants, and various kinds of babubles.
The decorations are illuminated with small yellow lights.
The Christmas tree in the center of Jambo House is also illuminated with yellow lights.
The tree is decorated with wooden sculptures, bows, and reed ornaments.
Garlands hang from the railings overlooking the lobby.
