Landon McReynolds of News 6 WKMG has revealed new concept art for Summer House on the Lake, a restaurant opening soon on the West Side of Disney Springs.

McReynolds shared that that Summer House on the Lake will feature a Cookie Bar, Rosé Cart, and a West coast-inspired menu.

The concept art shows the airy interior, including ferns hanging from the ceiling and a tree full of lights growing through the ceiling.

There will be a patio with covered outdoor seating.

The concept art includes a look at the cookie bar. McReynolds also shared a photo of one of Summer House’s giant cookies.

The new concept art mostly matches previously released concept art (below) of the restaurant’s interior.

Summer House on the Lake was announced in the summer of 2022, taking over the space formerly planned for Beatrix Restaurant. Disney and Lettuce Entertain You had previously announced that Beatrix was merely “on hold,” but it seems they decided not to go forward with that particular project. Lettuce Entertain You is the owner of both Beatrix and Summer House Santa Monica, which are both considered Chicago staples.

Summer House on the Lake will be located in the West Side section of Disney Springs. It’s one of several eateries at Disney Springs currently under construction or refurbishment; going over to the Marketplace section of the entertainment and dining area, the specific location for EET By Maneet Chauhan, a “modern, fun, Indian-inspired” restaurant that, too, will open in 2023, was recently revealed. The exterior volcano of the nearby Rainforest Cafe is currently engulfed in scaffolding, though the restaurant remains open.

Construction of Summer House on the Lake seems to be near completion, with the restaurant’s sign installed last month, but an opening date has not been announced. It’s scheduled to open this year, so will theoretically open within a few weeks.
