Before celebrating Mardi Gras, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort decorates for Christmas with garlands, trees, and more. French Quarter leans into the spirit of Mardi Gras with purple, gold, and green décor, while Riverside has more traditional Christmas decorations.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Garlands are wrapped around the lampposts of French Quarter.
Wreaths also hang from some of the lampposts.
The wreaths are adorned with big purple, gold, and green bows and matching baubles.
Garlands hang from the balconies overlooking the courtyard area.
They are decorated with ornaments featuring Mardi Gras masks.
More wreaths are on the columns of the porte-cochere.
These feature large purple flowers.
Inside the lobby, garlands are lit up blue and green, with beads hanging from their centers.
Wall decorations feature sparkling masks.
There are wreaths between the windows.
Garlands hang over the check-in counters.
Each garland is adorned with a different mask. This one has pieces resembling a jester’s hat.
This one has a red ruffle and a colorful diamond pattern.
Another mask has red beading.
More wreaths and garlands hang around Sassagoula Floatworks.
Another wreath has a purple and green ribbon formed into a rose shape.
There are a few Christmas trees, each topped with a black top hat.
They’re packed full of other colorful decorations and sit in purple velvet-covered boxes.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
The green garlands on the porte-cochere of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside are decorated with simple red, gold, and green baubles.
There are a few white flowers tucked into the garlands.
A wreath outside is lit with yellow lights and features a red velvet bow with long tails.
Garlands are attached to the balconies above the Riverside’s lobby rotunda.
Riverside has a single tall Christmas tree.
It features some medallion ornaments and pastel-colored flowers.
Vintage-style trunks sit around its base.
Garlands hang around the check-in area.
There are decorations between the windows that feature pinecones and giant snowflakes.
There are wreaths behind the counters, too.
Most of the lights in the greenery are a bright yellow.

More Holidays at Walt Disney World
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is on select nights through December 22. Tickets are only available for one remaining night. During the after-hours party, guests can enjoy Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, character meet and greets, and holiday attraction overlays. There are also complimentary treats, special menu items, and exclusive merchandise.
Disney Jollywood Nights is a new separately ticketed, adults-centric party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It takes place on select nights through December 20. Entertainment includes the variety show “Disney Holidays in Hollywood,” “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along,” and the “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” nighttime spectacular. Character meet and greets include Mickey & Friends in new outfits. The 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins on November 24 and runs through December 30, 2023. The festival will feature food at various Holiday Kitchens, celebrity narrators hosting the Candlelight Processional, Storytellers in World Showcase, the Living With the Land holiday overlay, exclusive merchandise, and more.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom features the Merry Menagerie puppet experience and characters dressed in holiday costumes.
