Among the special holiday treats available at Walt Disney World this season is the Deer Holly Day Cupcake, a chocolate and peanut butter dessert available at Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts.
We picked up the Deer Holly Day Cupcake from Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It will be available at both resorts through December 31.
The Walking in a (Plant-based) Snowland chocolate cupcake is also available at Landscape of Flavors.
Deer Holly Day Cupcake – $5.79
Chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with a peanut butter-cream cheese buttercream
Sweet treats are just part of the holidays and even the most common flavors need to show up for the party. Enter the Deer Holly Day Cupcake. This treat is returning for a reason.
The chocolate cupcake is filled with chocolate ganache giving it that rich heavy chocolate base. The cupcake is light and moist whereas the ganache is heavy and melts pleasantly in your mouth.
The little reindeer antlers are made of sugar.
What makes this cupcake a returning winner is the peanut butter-cream cheese buttercream. It’s a mouthful both to read and to eat but for any peanut butter fans, this will make your day.
The buttercream is thick and sweet but still has that signature roasted peanut taste. Of course, chocolate and peanut butter pair well together. Think of this as an inside-out Reese’s cupcake.
Unless you love peanut butter, though, this is just a standard skippable cupcake. It’s nothing extraordinary or appalling. We give it a 7.5/10.
