Mold-A-Rama Machines Removed From Universal Orlando Resort

There’s just something about the smell of hot plastic coming from the Mold-A-Rama machine that brings back memories. Guests visiting Universal Orlando have been able to take home their own plastic souvenir figures over the last few years with various machines located around the resort. Now, it appears these plastic souvenirs might be a thing of the past for Universal Orlando. All of the Mold-A-Rama machines have been removed.

The two Mold-A-Rama machines in the Universal Legacy Store featuring ‘JAWS’ and ‘Back to the Future’ were removed before the CityWalk store closed earlier this month. Those machines were removed, but the others were still set up around the park until now.

We discovered the mold machines were gone from Sahara Traders in Universal Studios Florida and the All Hallows Eve Boutique in Universal Islands of Adventure. The latter mold was most recently of the Bride of Frankenstein. The Sahara Traders machine offered the Creature from the Black Lagoon mold before being removed.

The Velociraptor egg mold was also removed from the Jurassic Park Discovery Center at Universal Islands of Adventure. It appears as though all of the Mold-A-Rama machines on property have been removed. The Tribute Store is not open yet for Mardi Gras, but there’s a good chance those machines have been removed as well.

Mold-A-Rama machines are owned and operated by Tim Striggow of  Unique Souvenirs, Inc. We interviewed Striggow at Free Play Florida last year. Watch our video of the interview below.

These figures were $8 and were a unique and inexpensive souvenir for guests visiting the parks. What do you think about Mold-A-Rama machines being removed from Universal Orlando Resort? Let us know in the comments.
