BREAKING: Title Announced for ‘The Mandalorian’ Movie, Production to Begin This Year

A title and production timeline have been announced for a movie spawning from the hit series “The Mandalorian.”

The film will be called “The Mandalorian & Grogu” and begins production this year.

The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau, who has helmed the franchise from its start in 2019.

I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.

No casting has been confirmed, but presumably, Pedro Pascal will return to voice Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian, though he may or may not portray the character on screen. The Emmy-award-winning stunt team is likely to return as well, featuring Lateef Crowder and more serving as the man behind the mask.

Favreau said he was working on a script for “The Mandalorian” season 4 back in 2022. It’s unclear if this film replaces season 4 or if there will still be another season of the Disney+ original series. “The Mandalorian” was named the most-watched original streaming show of 2023.

“The Mandalorian & Grogu” will be the first “Star Wars” film since “Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019. Other “Star Wars” films in development include “Lando,” “Rogue Squadron,” Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Rey film, Taika Waititi’s film, and Rian Johnson’s film.

This is the Way.
