Disney Files Set Installation Permit for ‘Smellephants on Parade’ at Magic Kingdom

Disney filed a permit with Orange County for show set installation around Storybook Circus at Magic Kingdom, likely for the “Smellephants on Parade” experience announced last July.

The show set installation permit contracts ThemeWorks, Inc. for work at 1272 Magic Kingdom Drive, which approximately corresponds to Storybook Circus.

ThemeWorks, Inc. has previously worked with Disney, including for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind sets. They’ve also worked for Universal on the Knight Bus in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and architecture in The Lost Continent and Jurassic Park.

“Smellephants on Parade” is an upcoming interactive experience sponsored by Scentsy, who are also now sponsoring Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Scentsy branding was added to the Storybook Circus attraction last November. In December, crews began clearing flowerbeds for the installation of “Smellephants” set pieces. Elephant figures inspired by the “Pink Elephants on Parade” sequence will create a “family-friendly ‘search and sniff’ adventure.”
