Major Sweets Candy Factory is Willy Wonka’s nightmare (or maybe his life goal; he is a little creepy) and one of the original houses for Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Studios Florida.

You’re chaperoning a fieldtrip to a candy factory when the free samples transform the kids into candy-coated killers.
Backstory
Major Sweets Candy Factory is based on the Sweet Revenge scare zone from HHN 31. The house serves as a prequel, before the ill-fated Halloween parade where Major Sweets’ donated candy turns the kids into killers. Instead, we chaperone a field trip to the factory where Major Sweets is testing his formula on unsuspecting school children.
Miss Treats, Major Sweets’ partner, appeared in the zone and returns for the house. A new character, Taffy, who has been disfigured by a workplace accident at the factory but remains loyal to Major Sweets.
We arrive to chaperone and are welcomed in by Major Sweets and Miss Treats. Everything seems fine (if not a little unsettling) on the surface, but things quickly take a sour turn after we enter the factory. Once everything starts to go wrong — or according to plan, if you’re Major Sweets — the children begin their rampage and the company decides it must destroy all evidence.

Review of Major Sweets Candy Factory
Major Sweets is a spiritual successor to Killer Klowns. It’s bright, fun, and grotesque. The Scareactors are killing it (pun intended). They’re clearly having fun and playing up their roles. It’s over-the-top but appropriately so. There’s a little ditty as you’re being shepherded toward the compactor that plays into the cognitive dissonance.
The special effects are noteworthy here. There’s a very disorienting hallway, props that move, and sounds and lighting meant to further the feeling of being in a functional, dangerous factory. It’s so good.
Hands down, it’s the best house they’ve ever done in this location. It’s a totally new layout, and it works.
Miss Treats is serving in every scene she’s in, and Taffy is creepy. There are GATs (guest activated triggers — big red buttons); push them! They cause some bonus effects.
Overall, this house embodies the energy of the scare zone and brings a lot of fun to the table. It creates an unsettling, disturbing environment without relying heavily on jumpscares. This house, like Goblin’s Feast, represents what the Halloween Horror Nights does best. They’re two very different experiences that showcase what makes this event stand out each year.
