Never Land Tribe Scene Updated on Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom

Peter Pan’s Flight reopened today, August 16, at Magic Kingdom with an update: the Never Land Tribe scene has been entirely changed.

The entrance to the "Peter Pan's Flight" ride at a theme park features whimsical decorations and a sign with Peter Pan and characters flying, but with "Peter Pan's Flight Closing" soon, the enchanting scene feels bittersweet.

The Walt Disney World webpage for the attraction was updated in the evening on August 15 that the ride would reopen today, sooner than anticipated, following the completion of its refurbishment. It was previously scheduled to reopen on August 21. The ride has been closed since July 8.

The new scene depicts Tiger Lilly dancing in a circle with another, older member of her tribe.

The previous Never Land Tribe scene featured Tiger Lily and fellow members of her tribe sitting around their campfire, with the chief having his arms crossed as other members play drums around them.

Colorful, stylized scene featuring three teepees with designs and pastel-colored elements, reminiscent of the Never Land tribe from Peter Pan's Flight, including pink clouds and a green, segmented caterpillar-like structure on the left side.

The tipis at the load area were also repainted to match those aboard the ride in the updated scene.

The tipis present on the paintings in line have also been updated to reflect the new design of the Never Land Tribe.

It was previously rumored that the attraction would eventually receive cultural sensitivity updates. The Never Land mural outside of the attraction where Peter Pan normally meets guests got an update in 2022 to be more inclusive of different cultures, replacing references to an “Indian Camp” with the “Never Land Tribe.”
