After being removed for refurbishment five years ago, the Green Eggs and Ham sign is back on the quick-service venue in Universal Islands of Adventure.
Green Eggs and Ham Sign
As photographer Bioreconstruct shared on X, the sign was gone by at least October 22, 2019, amidst a refurbishment. At the time, the exterior of Green Eggs and Ham was repainted. The building itself is made to resemble a chunk of green ham with a slice hanging forward and a fork in the top.
Five years later, the sign has finally returned. It’s on a pole sticking out of the overhang above the ordering area.
The sign is approximately shaped like a slice of ham with a green border. It’s held up by a red-gloved hand. To the sides of the name are the characters of “Green Eggs and Ham,” Sam-I-Am holding out a plate of the famous dish and the other character gesticulating that he doesn’t want it.
The same design is on the back of the sign, but with the characters positions mirrored.
Though the sign is back, the decorations that were once on the bottom half of the pole are missing. It was previously decorated with red, yellow, and blue elements, as seen in Bioreconstruct’s embedded photo above.
Green Eggs and Ham mostly serves tater tot dishes, including Green Eggs & Ham Tots ($11.49): Green eggs, diced ham, and white cheese sauce over tater tots.
Seuss Landing has seen several updates since 2021. Caro-Seuss-el and the “If I Ran the Zoo” playground were both refurbished. Most of the entrance archway was torn down (and has not returned). Circus McGurkus closed in 2023 and reopened in early 2024. Earlier this year, the Sneetches returned to their beaches at Seuss Landing after a 2 1/2-year absence.
In 2021, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced they would stop publishing and licensing six Dr. Seuss books because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.” Universal announced at the time they would evaluate the use of these books in Seuss Landing, which may be part of the reason the land has seen so much work recently (although the Green Eggs and Ham sign was removed years earlier).
