Christmas 2024 is over which means it’s basically 2025, which means it’s basically Halloween Horror Nights. As such, Horror Night Nightmares (@HHNightmares on X) has released their first speculation maps for HHN 34 at Universal Studios Florida and HHN 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Halloween Horror Nights Speculation Maps
In honor of Christmas, Horror Night Nightmares used various holiday-themed symbols to represent the different rumored houses. It’s important to remember that these are currently just rumors — some of the speculation might be wrong or Universal might change their plans.
The maps have presents marked with question marks representing the houses that are currently mysteries. The scare zones at Universal Studios Florida are all currently unknown, as is the stage show.
The Universal Studios Florida map features a white dove with two lily flowers at soundstage 23A (next to Despicable Me Minion Mayhem). This could be for an original house. Others have speculated that this could be “The Last of Us Part II;” “The Last of Us Part I” was featured at HHN 32.
Both maps feature a white Santa beard representing a house. This is at soundstage 23B (Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon) in Universal Studios Florida and H-Lot tent 1 (Curious George Parking Lot) in Universal Studios Hollywood. This seems to represent the “Terrifier” franchise. “Terrifier 3” was just released this fall and saw Art the Clown dress up as Santa Claus. Since the film’s release, rumors have swirled about HHN including the series.
A ghost symbol for tent 4 (next to Men in Black: Alien Attack) in Universal Studios Florida and UBE venue (next to Production Plaza) in Universal Studios Hollywood could represent “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” The long-anticipated sequel was released this fall. Beetlejuice has appeared at Halloween Horror Nights several times, including in houses and stage shows. The franchise’s most recent appearance was a “Beetlejuice” house in 2021 at Universal Studios Florida.
A shelf of toys might be for Blumhouse. The toys include a doll (“M3GAN”), a rabbit (“The Purge”), a die, and alphabet blocks. This symbol is at Fast & Furious: Supercharged in Universal Studios Florida and H-Lot tent 2 in Universal Studios Hollywood. Blumhouse has been a staple of HHN for the past decade. Just in 2024, they had the Insidious: The Further house at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Florida had the Enter the Blumhouse scare zone. Hollywood’s Terror Tram was Enter the Blumhouse.
At T-PAD on the Universal Studios Hollywood map near Transformers: The Ride, Santa Claus can be seen peeking out from behind a Christmas tree while holding a box of popcorn. This could possibly be related to Slaughter Sinema 2, an original house from Universal Studios Florida that featured a Christmas-themed slasher film, “Killer Kringles.” The first Slaughter Sinema house has yet to make its way to Hollywood, so it’s possible that Universal could mix up the collection of films from both iterations to create a brand-new experience.
A rocking horse at soundstage 22 (Despicable Me Minion Mayhem) in Universal Studios Florida and Revenge of the Mummy in Universal Studios Hollywood might be for “The Last of Us Part II,” which features horses. Halloween Horror Nights had houses inspired by the 2013 video game in 2023, soon after the first season of the TV show premiered. The second season of the show is set to premiere in early 2025, so a house based on the sequel game would make sense.
There is one other symbol only on the Universal Studios Hollywood map: a wreath-like symbol with a tree in the center, at the Parisian courtyard. This could be an original house.
As for scare zones and shows, the Universal Studios Hollywood map includes a black bird representing one scare zone (a hint at a return or sequel to Murder of Crowz?), a creepy hand reaching towards a cookie at the DreamWorks theater, and a Jet Ski at the WaterWorld theater. “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” was performed in the WaterWorld theater for the last two years.
