Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will temporarily close for refurbishment in January 2025.
The last day of operations for the raft ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be Sunday, January 5. On Monday, January 6, the ride will close, likely for its annual refurbishment. A set reopening time has yet to be announced. The official Walt Disney World website lists the attraction as closed through at least February 8 – the furthest date available for guests to view on the attraction calendar.
In 2024, Kali River Rapids closed on January 8 for its annual refurbishment and reopened on March 15. For the 2023 season, the attraction closed on January 9 and reopened on February 26.
Kali River Rapids is located in Asia of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s a fast-moving rapids ride where guests travel through lush vegetation and eventually plummet down a 20-foot slope. Guests are sure to get splashed, and maybe even soaked, as they travel past rushing waterfalls and through raging currents.
