With just 11 days before the first phase of closures to make way for the upcoming Tropical Americas land, a Disney Vacation Club kiosk has been removed from DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney Vacation Club Kiosk Removed from DinoLand
The kiosk was previously located here in the land, just outside of TriceraTop Spin and across from The Boneyard.
As seen here, the kiosk previously took up this now empty space between a caricatures kiosk and a snack cart. The snack cart was closed during our visit on January 2, 2025. Other DVC kiosks can still be found elsewhere in the park.
You can see where the former kiosk was positioned, thanks to the differentiation in color of the pavement. A fence runs the length of the area behind where the kiosk once was, with Restaurantosaurus looming in the background.
Behind the fence, potted plants have been positioned to hide equipment for various enclosures.
That being said, you can see some of that equipment peeking through the shrubbery.
DinoLand will have its first phase closure on January 13, 2025, which will include TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. The final day of operations for these locations will be January 12.
DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will remain open at this time, though a closure date is likely to come later. DINOSAUR will stay open through all of 2025, giving guests plenty of time to experience the attraction before it goes extinct. The Alioramus animatronic was recently returned to the ride with improved articulation.
DinoLand U.S.A. will be transformed into a new Tropical Americas land, complete with an “Encanto” attraction taking up the footprint of the first phase closure area, an Indiana Jones attraction taking over DINOSAUR, a giant wood-carved carousel, and the inclusion of the town of Pueblo Esperanza.
Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new Notice of Commencement for the work on the expansion last month, covering the relative area of the former Primeval Whirl attraction and Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama. Demolition plans for the land were also filed in fall 2024. The new land is scheduled to open in 2027.
