Retractable stanchions have been added to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind queue located just outside of the last pre-show room ahead of the impending standby line debut.

The queue just after the last pre-show room of the fan-favorite coaster now has stanchions to direct foot traffic toward the loading area. Notably, this area causes pushing and shoving along with occasional backups with excited guests looking to get on the ride.

It appears that Disney is expecting high demand and is taking measures to ensure guest safety as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind moves away from virtual queue beginning February 25, 2025.

Stanchions have been set up on either side of the room where the queue usually turns into a bottle-neck. The stanchions allow guests to get into a more single-file line prior to boarding. A Cast Member was also present to monitor guest use of the new system.

This new addition comes shortly after an extended outdoor queue was set up in preparation for longer standby lines.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has utilized a virtual queue since the attraction opened on May 22, 2022. Using this system, guests wanting to ride had to grab a virtual spot on the My Disney Experience app. The line spots were dropped at 7 a.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET daily, with the queue often being filled shortly after the drop times. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will still continue to offer Lightning Lane Single Passes and Lightning Lane Premier Pass for guests to purchase if they do not want to wait in the standby line.
Disney also announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind would be added on February 25 to the early entry benefit for Disney hotel guests. Early entry allows guests at Disney Resort hotels and select partner hotels to enter the park 30 minutes before the regular opening time and access select attractions.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also no longer be using the virtual queue system as of the same date.
