The new episode of “We Call It Imagineering” seemingly confirms that the new Avengers: Infinity Defense attraction will be in 3D.

Three people sit inside a mock-up of a 3D ride vehicle, smiling as if about to embark on an Avengers: Infinity Defense adventure through multiverse-jumping, all in a dimly lit setting.

The “Let’s Ride” episode all about ride vehicles features several clips of Imagineers testing Avengers: Infinity Defense in a mockup vehicle in front of large screens. One feature in the vehicle is a projected number counting up. As we’ve previously noted, the ride seems to use the same system as Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, which opened last year in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea.

The Imagineers in the vehicle appear to jump through a multiverse portal on a screen in front of them. As a rocky planet is revealed, the screens open, revealing a larger screen showcasing the same environment.

In addition to the rocky location, the clips show the vastness of space including floating rocks and spaceship debris. Although these locations aren’t instantly identifiable, we do know the ride will visit Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City.

A large golden drum crashes into a statue amidst smoke and dust, with silhouetted figures raising their arms in the foreground against a bright blue sky, reminiscent of an exhilarating 3D ride in the multiverse-jumping adventure of Avengers: Infinity Defense.

Another clip shows a statue of Loki, seemingly about to be crushed by a falling structure. The video clips seem to purposefully blurred to keep elements of the ride secret, but they also seem to be obscured due to being in 3D.

The ride using 3D is all but confirmed by Imagineers wearing 3D glasses as they look up at the scenes. This isn’t an official announcement and it is always possible Disney could change their minds about using 3D.

Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure also utilizes 3D for its screen-based scenes, which are mixed with physical sets. Watch our ride POV of the Fantasy Springs attraction below for an idea of what Avengers: Infinity Defense will be like.

Avengers: Infinity Defense tells a “brand-new story that will bring guests into battle alongside their favorite Super Heroes.” Guests join Marvel heroes from across the multiverse to battle King Thanos, a version of the villain who won. It’s part of an expansion to Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure that will double the land’s size. “We Call It Imagineering” also previewed Stark Flight Lab, the other new Avengers Campus attraction.

The “We Call It Imagineering” episode included first looks at the new “Cars” attraction and “Monsters, Inc.” door coaster coming to Walt Disney World.
