New Purple Martin Plush at Walt Disney World

In honor of the purple martins that fly to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort each year, the hotel now offers purple martin plush.

Purple Martin Plush – $12.99

Though the species is named after the color purple, you’ll notice the plush is more blue and black. In real life, the birds have iridescent feathers that appear to change color in different lights, sometimes making them look purple.

Purple martins fly from Brazil to Walt Disney World to raise their families each year in nests at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and EPCOT. Guests can join a conservation expert from Disney’s Animal, Science and Environment team to learn more about purple martins and check on their nests at 9 a.m. on select days (one sign says Mondays and Fridays, another says Sundays and Thursdays, so check with the hotel to be sure). The tour meets at the Turf Club patio.

This plush is available at The Artist’s Palette in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.
