More 70th anniversary decorations adorn Disneyland Resort, including new banners on the tram route, a mural in Downtown Disney District, and new flags on Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Downtown Disney District
A new mural next to a Downtown Disney security plaza showcases different iconic buildings from the district and the theme parks at night. A line of sparkles curls around the buildings and trees, leading to Tinker Bell next to a retro “70” symbol at the center of the mural.
A blue sparkling “70” is in the center of a yellow and purple flower. “Downtown Disney” is in bright green letters below, in the iconic cursive Disney font.
Downtown Disney buildings include the LEGO Store with Maleficent as a dragon on top, a tower of Star Wars Trading Post, and Din Tai Fung.
The white stage in the center opened in late 2023 as part of a new grassy plaza.
A red Monorail cuts through the center of the mural. Colorful silhouettes of people are depicted enjoying their time in Downtown Disney.
World of Disney is on the far right of the mural. Waterfalls are depicted over rocks to the side. Fireworks go off above Sleeping Beauty Castle in the distance.
Tram Route
New 70th anniversary banners are attached to the lampposts lining the tram route. These are all light blue with dark blue borders and gold lines. There are two designs featuring the “70” logo, which has the number in purple and blue below pink castle towers. One version of the banner has The Haunted Mansion, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge spires, Mad Tea Party teacups, and the “it’s a small world” facade around the logo.
Another version of the design features Disney California Adventure iconography: a “Monsters, Inc.” door and scream canister, churros, Pixar Pal-A-Round, and Grizzly Peak.

Several banners read “Celebrate Happy,” the motto of the 70th celebration. Each of these also features two or three characters: Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Clarabelle and Chip ‘n’ Dale, Goofy and Pluto.

Two other banner designs feature park iconography around advertisements for mobile order and Lightning Lane available via the Disneyland app.
Esplanade
The esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure also features new banners on lampposts. Like the tram route banners, these are light blue with dark blue borders and gold highlights.
These all feature one (or two) characters with the 70th anniversary logo. White bunting across the top reads, “Celebrate Happy.”
The characters are pictured in their colorful 70th anniversary outfits. They include Mickey, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pluto, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy.
Colorful stars surround the characters.

Also in the esplanade is a 50-foot Sleeping Beauty Castle-inspired sculpture.
Disneyland Park
As WDWNT previously reported, the Mickey flowerbed at the entrance of Disneyland now consists of purple and pink swirls around a purple depiction of Mickey.
Additional decorations have been added to the Main Street, U.S.A. train station. The 70th anniversary medallion in front of the station, facing the entrance, now has colorful swirling elements at its sides. These are dotted with stars.

Matching colorful bunting is on the train station. The main colors of the celebration are blue, purple, pink, and yellow. This color scheme is reflected in the decor.
The 70th anniversary medallion in Town Square now has silhouettes of Mickey and Minnie to its sides. The characters are depicted in their classic costumes.
Mickey wears red shorts and yellow shoes. Minnie is in a blue polka-dot skirt, red bow, and yellow shoes. There’s a matching medallion with Goofy and Donald in Disney California Adventure (below).
Sleeping Beauty Castle received its own 70th anniversary medallion earlier this month. The banners lining the castle’s bridge were switched out with new pink and blue banners featuring gold stars.

The flags atop the castle’s towers are also new. They are usually all dark blue, but have been switched to the vibrant colors of the 70th anniversary celebration.
According to concept art, the banners on the bridge will also get small medallions and gold trumpet elements.
Disney California Adventure
In Disney California Adventure, there are now Goofy and Donald standees next to the 70th anniversary medallion in a flowerbed near the Storytellers statue.
The Carthay Circle Theater facade was recently refurbished. It now has three long blue banners hanging from its main tower. The marquee reads “A 70th Celebration World Premiere” with stars.
The banners feature dark blue and gold Art Deco designs. They are topped with gold elements featuring the classic Disneyland “D.”
A 70th anniversary medallion is on the center banner. These decorations are highlighted during “Celebrate Happy – A Little Touch of Magic,” a short nightly projection show on the facade.
The Disneyland 70th Celebration officially begins on May 16.
