According to Disney, The Boneyard will have its last day of operation on September 1, 2025. This closure will mark the start of the second phase of construction on the Tropical Americas land, which will entirely replace DinoLand U.S.A.

Guests with smaller explorers need not worry, though; Disney has said that the Tropical Americas land will include a new playground area for small children once it opens. Details on what this area will include were not shared, other than that there will be a playground.

Disney first began the transformation of DinoLand earlier this year, with the first phase of closures that included Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama and TriceraTop Spin, Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in January.

Once complete, Tropical Americas will also include the first-ever “Encanto” attraction and a carousel featuring Disney animals. The land is scheduled to open in 2027. Rumors previously indicated that the remainder of DinoLand U.S.A. would close in January 2026, with Disney further clarifying the land’s closing timeline.
